Event Sanctioning Approval
Sanctioning of a rugby event by Rugby Quebec and Rugby Canada is the mean by which medical/accident insurance (Rugby Quebec) and general liability insurance (Rugby Canada) coverages are extended to rugby events outside of the Rugby Quebec league play.
All rugby events involving members of Rugby Quebec and Rugby Canada must be sanctioned to be covered by the insurance. The practices and league games of registered member Clubs are the only competitions considered sanctioned and insured by default when all athletes, team management and staff and all participants (volunteers, organizing committee/administrators) are registered with Rugby Quebec and Rugby Canada within the current membership year.
Apply for sanction on the Rugby Canada online platform. Click on the links below according to the type of event you’re organizing:
|Please note: Clubs/organizations that apply for a sanction for an event where all participants are registered and members of Rugby Quebec and Rugby Canada do not have to pay the sanctioning fee. However, application for the sanction still has to be completed and approved for all events outside of league play. A Club/organization involved in an event outside of league play must absolutely ensure that the event is sanctioned by Rugby Quebec and Rugby Canada. If the event (outside of league play) is not sanctioned, all participants will not be covered by the insurance coverages as detailed above even if some or all participants are registered and members of Rugby Quebec and Rugby Canada.|
